Blizzcon 2011 Cosplay: ‘Burlesque’ Blood Elf
The Blood Elf Mage ‘Burlesque’ Variation was made for the BlizzCon 2011 Aspects of Awesome Burlesque group.  As I mentioned in my prior post, this Cosplay was ‘recycled’ from previously used cosplay pieces in order to join the great group of girls that put together the Aspects of Awesome.  It’s definitely not my favorite Cosplay ever because it is only loosely based on game art, but I did have a lot of fun with it. I just realized that I never posted any official follow-up on my Cosplay posts for the finalized version of this Cosplay (and several others), so here it is. Enjoy!

Dearest Loveloveloves,

Why hello there, Lovelies.  It’s November! November has been so enjoyable now that I don’t have an overwhelming amount of events and projects lingering over my head.  I haven’t written a diary post in a while, have I?

BlizzCon was fantastic. In fact, this was my favorite BlizzCon ever.  I had the pleasure of being a part of the G4 photo shoot and video for the Aspects of Awesome Burlesque Group, and was in G4’s the Girls of BlizzCon video. I am still compiling pictures from all over, although I admit I haven’t been diligent with it.

The best part of BlizzCon was that I met and got to know so many wonderful, creative, and fun people that I instantly hearted and want to keep in my life.  At some point I’ll post more pictures but, in the meantime, enjoy Mike Morhaime :)

And then, the very following week I participated at GNC’s National Physique Comittee’s event in San Diego! I’ll post more pictures of this too, once I have the time and energy :)

With all that out of the way, it’s time for me to relax and party!

           Very truly yours,

My World of Warcraft Blood Elf Mage costume was debuted at Blizzcon 2010. This costume is based on the Sin Dorei culture in World of Warcraft and the blood elf art of The Burning Crusade.
The Shoulder/Helm piece design is based on the armor depicted in the first pieces of Blood Elf Art and similar items appear in game as armor acquired from the Sunwell raid. My costume piece design was patterned and constructed entirely out of leather by Cynthia Hall (Ayabi), whose craftsmanship is bar-none. The Robes appear in-game on the golden statues within Silvermoon, the Blood Elf Capital, and also as The Robes of the Shifting Sands (in Dark Pink).  Their traditional red coloring used to appear on Blood Elf NPC’s prior to The Burning Crusade expansion.  I designed these robes to a fashionable and ultra-feminine fit, and constructed them from red taffeta, leather, and sheet metal.  The necklace and bracers were made with metals, and were also constructed by me.

Getting Photographed

These are several photos of me getting my picture taken throughout the convention. Cosplaying and getting my photo taken while I cosplay is definitely one of the biggest highlights for me of attending conventions in costume.

Although the girl in the fore-front is walking through, this another photo taken of the photo gatherings.
